Long Island Feeding Therapy Services

Are you looking for the best feeding therapy that Long Island has to offer?

At Foodology Feeding Therapy in Long Island NY, we stand apart from the typical insurance-based, larger clinics. We specialize exclusively in serving children and teens with severe and fearful feeding issues—diving deep to uncover the root causes of picky eating, PFD, ARFID, and sensory feeding challenges. Whether in person at our Central Long Island location or virtually from anywhere in the world.

Feeding struggles are rarely “just picky eating.”

At Foodology Feeding Therapy, we take a whole-child, systems-based approach to feeding. Instead of focusing only on behavior or exposure, we look at how your child’s oral-motor skills, sensory processing, nervous system regulation, nutrition, and mindset interact to shape how they eat — and how eating feels in their body.

Most feeding evaluations look at skills in isolation. This approach looks at the full picture, which is why families often experience clearer answers and more sustainable progress — without pressure, force, or endless trial-and-error.

My son just recently graduated out of the program. It was not an easy process to get him to where he is now. He can be extremely stubborn at times but his therapist Krystal was so patient and positive each session. When the sessions were done, often times she would share info and links to get the tools she used with him so we could work with him at home. We were able to text her updates and videos throughout the week and she would provide feedback immediately. I believe this helped us as parents to stay as consistent as possible with the exercises at home. I really appreciate everything Krystal has done for us. We will continue to use the strategies shown to us to ensure my son is able to eat age appropriate foods independently like his peers.

  • We've been working with my son’s speech therapist, Olivia, for several months now, and we can't express enough gratitude for her unwavering dedication and professionalism. Dealing with our lively little guy, who's bursting with energy and personality, can be a handful. However, Olivia's patience is truly superhuman, turning potential chaos into a collaborative adventure that makes each session feel like a playdate. What sets Olivia apart is her commitment to going beyond the routine. She doesn't just follow a set plan; she adapts and evolves based on our kid's ever-changing needs. It's like having a therapist who customizes each session to fit our little one's unique personality and progress. One of Olivia's incredible talents is her knack for uncovering hidden gems that truly resonate with our boy. She comes to our home armed with a massive bag of educational toys, a modern-day Mary Poppins. Each session feels like a magical unveiling as she selects just the right tool to capture our son's interest and fuel his language development.

My son has had services since early September, and I have seen significant improvement in his communication since. He lights up when his teacher Haley arrives and is ready to engage. Every parent wants to see their child excel, and watching them do that right before your eyes is the best feeling in the world. I don’t know what I would do without their help. They have made such an impact on my child’s life. I highly recommend this company if your child has any speech needs!

My son started services with Haley in June and it has been so wonderful working her! We have seen great improvement in his speech and recognition. He could not be more happy to see her when she walks in! He loves all the toys she brings and its amazing to see him so engaged. I am so grateful that we have Haley working so closely with our son, she has made such an incredible impact on his life in such a short amount of time. I can't recommend Haley and Foodology Feeding enough, you will not be disappointed!

I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They have helped my daughter tremendously in the past year. If you have a child that is struggling to eat or has a fear of food or of different texture, I would highly recommend giving them a call. They are so sweet and gentle with my child yet, extremely effective at the same time.

My son was barely speaking at his second birthday and now that he’s recently turned three he’s come so far working with Olivia. Not only has she helped him with his speech and clarity but she has become one of his favorite people. He asks all the time if Olivia is coming over and whenever we do things he can’t wait to tell her about it. We’ve worked with other speech therapists before with our all of our kids and Olivia has been the best. She makes learning fun and engaging. Plus she’s teaching speech while also being educational and going over colors, seasons, shapes, etc. We would highly recommend her help!

FAQs

The most frequently asked questions we hear

Do You Take Insurance?
We Fill the Gap That Insurance-Based Clinics Often Miss

Unlike most insurance-based therapy providers, we don’t just check a box or follow a 6-session template.
We specialize in complex, layered feeding cases — the ones that often get dismissed, delayed, or underserved in traditional systems.

That’s why we’re private-pay only — so we can provide the depth of evaluation, individualized planning, and ongoing support these families truly need.

But we also know cost matters.

We offer tools to help families access out-of-network reimbursement:

  • A downloadable Insurance Appeal Toolkit with ready-to-use templates and parent guides

  • Customized superbills that reflect medically necessary services and align with insurer language

Can You Travel To My Home?

Yes, we do offer in-home feeding therapy! Our ability to travel depends on your location and therapist availability, but we regularly see children in their homes throughout Long Island, including Suffolk and Nassau County. Call us to learn more about availability and travel fees for your area.

I have an evaluation from a previous facility, do I still need one?

It depends and is determined on a case by case basis. Okay If the evaluation is over a year old, we would need to re-do the evaluation.

Due to the comprehensive nature of our evaluations, many evaluations are just not detailed enough to give us the information we need.

We will look over the evaluation free of charge and let you know if it can be used to start services.

Can we do it virtually over video chat?

Yes! We can work with you virtually as well as in-person. Please feel free to reach out to us and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.

What age do you start therapy for kids on Long Island?

We work with children from infancy through school-age. Feeding challenges can show up early — and it’s never too soon to start getting help. In fact, the sooner you get help, the quicker and easier it is to remediate the issues.
