Long Island Feeding Therapy Services
Are you looking for the best feeding therapy that Long Island has to offer?
At Foodology Feeding Therapy in Long Island NY, we stand apart from the typical insurance-based, larger clinics. We specialize exclusively in serving children and teens with severe and fearful feeding issues—diving deep to uncover the root causes of picky eating, PFD, ARFID, and sensory feeding challenges. Whether in person at our Central Long Island location or virtually from anywhere in the world.
Feeding struggles are rarely “just picky eating.”
At Foodology Feeding Therapy, we take a whole-child, systems-based approach to feeding. Instead of focusing only on behavior or exposure, we look at how your child’s oral-motor skills, sensory processing, nervous system regulation, nutrition, and mindset interact to shape how they eat — and how eating feels in their body.
Most feeding evaluations look at skills in isolation. This approach looks at the full picture, which is why families often experience clearer answers and more sustainable progress — without pressure, force, or endless trial-and-error.

Safe and Sound Protocol Review: I have two daughters and each of them individually benefited from the Safe and Sound Protocol. My ten year old is chronically anxious about everything in her life and struggles with executive dysfunction and getting needed tasks done. She also has a very hard time with her emotions. She was wanting to try herself to see if it would help her- within only a week of starting , she noticed a difference . She verbally was telling me how much less anxious she was- we saw how she was starting to better control her emotions and not always resort to crying immediately- fast forward a few weeks later and we have seen such a difference in her. She actually puts herself out there now, even auditioning for a role at school which she never would have done in the past. We are able to have many conversations now without it ending in crying or shutting down. I’m incredibly happy we gave this program a chance and would really recommend it to anyone who has a child who really is struggling with any type of emotional . Dysregulation. My other daughter is younger (6 years old) and has a language processing delay as well as ADHD . She has some anxiety too, but we wanted to try this program to help promote more balance and focus in her life. She first struggled to sit even 5 minutes calmly to listen - by end of week two she was asking to sit all on her own 15-20 minutes . I was blown away- never in the 6 years we have had her was she ever able to sit calmly for that long of a period of time. We noticed her reading was improving in school- and her therapy sessions- because she was able to focus better on the material! She went through some testing recently and was getting 100 percent on all the material being taught in Kindergarten. I was really blown away for both of my kids- and really would recommend anyone on the fence to give it a try!

November 4, 2023My son just recently graduated out of the program. It was not an easy process to get him to where he is now. He can be extremely stubborn at times but his therapist Krystal was so patient and positive each session. When the sessions were done, often times she would share info and links to get the tools she used with him so we could work with him at home. We were able to text her updates and videos throughout the week and she would provide feedback immediately. I believe this helped us as parents to stay as consistent as possible with the exercises at home. I really appreciate everything Krystal has done for us. We will continue to use the strategies shown to us to ensure my son is able to eat age appropriate foods independently like his peers.

February 11, 2025I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They have helped my daughter tremendously in the past year. If you have a child that is struggling to eat or has a fear of food or of different texture, I would highly recommend giving them a call. They are so sweet and gentle with my child yet, extremely effective at the same time.

FAQs
The most frequently asked questions we hear
Do You Take Insurance?
We Fill the Gap That Insurance-Based Clinics Often Miss
Unlike most insurance-based therapy providers, we don’t just check a box or follow a 6-session template.
We specialize in complex, layered feeding cases — the ones that often get dismissed, delayed, or underserved in traditional systems.
That’s why we’re private-pay only — so we can provide the depth of evaluation, individualized planning, and ongoing support these families truly need.
But we also know cost matters.
We offer tools to help families access out-of-network reimbursement:
A downloadable Insurance Appeal Toolkit with ready-to-use templates and parent guides
Customized superbills that reflect medically necessary services and align with insurer language
Can You Travel To My Home?
Yes, we do offer in-home feeding therapy! Our ability to travel depends on your location and therapist availability, but we regularly see children in their homes throughout Long Island, including Suffolk and Nassau County. Call us to learn more about availability and travel fees for your area.
I have an evaluation from a previous facility, do I still need one?
It depends and is determined on a case by case basis. Okay If the evaluation is over a year old, we would need to re-do the evaluation.
Due to the comprehensive nature of our evaluations, many evaluations are just not detailed enough to give us the information we need.
We will look over the evaluation free of charge and let you know if it can be used to start services.
Can we do it virtually over video chat?
Yes! We can work with you virtually as well as in-person. Please feel free to reach out to us and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.
What age do you start therapy for kids on Long Island?
We work with children from infancy through school-age. Feeding challenges can show up early — and it’s never too soon to start getting help. In fact, the sooner you get help, the quicker and easier it is to remediate the issues.
