Holistic Feeding Therapy
HELPING CHILDREN MOVE FROM FEAR TO CONFIDENCE USING A WHOLE CHILD APPROACH
Your Investment in Your Child’s Food Future Starts Here
This isn’t just any feeding therapy clinic. At Foodology, we take a unique holistic feeding therapy approach that transforms mealtimes from stressful and limiting to exciting and full of possibility. We go far beyond simply trying to get your child to eat more—we work to uncover the why behind the struggle and empower your child to build a lifelong, positive relationship with food. No pressure. No tricks. Just deep, individualized care.
Unlike traditional, insurance-based practices that rely on surface-level behavior strategies, our therapy is built specifically for children with picky eating, ARFID, and sensory-based feeding challenges. We combine mindset work, sensory integration, oral motor development, and even gut health insights to support true, lasting change—not quick fixes.
Is a Holistic Approach to Feeding Therapy the Best?
Yes—here’s why we believe it’s not just better, but essential.
At Foodology, we believe the best feeding therapy doesn’t just check boxes — it transforms lives. Our holistic model is designed for children who haven’t made progress in traditional settings, and for families who are ready to stop just managing feeding and start truly understanding it.
This is why families across Long Island, New York, and beyond trust us when everything else hasn’t worked.
Why So Many Families Come to Us After Traditional Therapy Hasn’t Worked
Many of the families we serve come to us after months or even years of traditional feeding therapy—often discouraged, frustrated, and still stuck. When we take the time to truly listen and evaluate what was done in previous therapy, we often discover that their child was receiving support that falls squarely on the left side of the chart—behavior-based, reward-driven, or surface-level strategies that don’t match the depth of their child’s needs.
The reality? These children didn’t fail therapy.
They were never given the right kind of therapy.
Why This Happens More Than It Should
Unfortunately, many traditional or insurance-based therapy models are limited in what they can offer:
Sessions are short and limited in number, leaving little time to build trust or dig deep
Evaluations are rushed and rarely uncover the full picture (sensory issues, oral motor delays, mindset blocks, gut issues, etc.)
Therapists are often generalists, not specialists trained in complex or fearful feeding
Reimbursement rates are low, meaning therapists are overbooked and under-resourced
At Foodology, we take the opposite approach. We specialize only in feeding, and we work outside of restrictive systems so we can go deeper, think holistically, and create lasting change.
What Makes Our Approach Holistic?
We don't just look at what your child is or isn’t eating —we dig deeper. Our therapy integrates:

Oral Motor Development
Can your child physically manage the food that goes into their mouth?

Sensory Processing
Is food overwhelming, or are key senses under-responsive?

Gut Health & Nutrition
Are there underlying issues like reflux, allergies, or imbalances affecting appetite?

Mindset
How do anxiety, control, and past experiences shape your child’s relationship with food?
This comprehensive 4 Pillar lens allows us to create personalized strategies that honor your child’s nervous system, needs, and natural desire to grow.
Who We Help

Our holistic feeding therapy is ideal for children who:
- Eat fewer than 20 foods, or their food list continues to shrink over time
- Experience meltdowns, anxiety, or gagging when new foods are introduced
- Have been diagnosed with or show signs of PFD (Pediatric Feeding Disorder) or ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
- Cannot eat at restaurants, birthday parties, or school without parents bringing “safe foods”
- Will only eat specific brands, colors, textures, or foods prepared a certain way
- Struggle with textures, temperatures, or chewing/swallowing
- Have a history of reflux, allergies, tube feeding, or traumatic feeding experiences
- Don’t respond to typical feeding therapy or behavioral approaches
- Have sensory sensitivities or neurodivergence (including autism, ADHD, or SPD)
- Refuse entire food groups like vegetables, proteins, or mixed textures
- Rely heavily on milk, yogurt, or pouches as their primary nutrition
- Were once flexible eaters but became more limited due to illness, trauma, or regression
- Have plateaued in progress and you’re feeling stuck, worried, or exhausted
If any of this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone—and that there’s a different way forward. Our holistic feeding therapy is built to help children (and parents) move from fear and frustration to connection and confidence.

Here’s How It Works
Step 1: The Deep Dive Evaluation—A Roadmap to Real Change
Our journey starts with an in-depth, exceptional, customized evaluation that’s unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. Between 14-21 pages of assessments help us get a full, clear 360-degree holistic picture of your child’s feeding challenges—from sensory sensitivities to motor skills and everything in-between—so we leave no stone unturned.
What we offer here is unlike any other feeding evaluation. Unlike typical insurance-based evaluations, which often rely on quick, surface-level assessments and are often handled by general therapists with limited expertise in this highly complex field, our team consists of specialized experts who have dedicated their careers to understanding and solving the complexities of feeding challenges. We don’t just skim the surface; we dive deep, taking the time to uncover every single factor that could be affecting your child’s relationship with food.
This isn’t a cookie-cutter approach—we’re crafting a personalized holistic roadmap that’s as unique as your child. This is a remarkable and thorough process that guarantees you won’t just be handed a checklist, but a clear, actionable plan to transform mealtimes from struggle to success.
Ahead of your appointment, we’ll ask you to complete paperwork and send us videos of your child eating at home. This gives us the time we need to fully prepare and ensure the evaluation is as thorough and in-depth as possible.
After the evaluation, we’ll go over everything, discuss our findings, and give you a mealtime roadmap—a clear, step-by-step plan to address the key issues and put you on the path to success. This is not just another therapy—it’s a remarkable approach you won’t find anywhere else.
Step 2: Empowering Education & Innovative Protocols
What we offer here is unlike anything else you’ll find in the world of feeding therapy-which is why we work with families all over the world. We don’t just treat feeding challenges—we have revolutionized the entire approach. Our unique, transformative program is designed to empower you, the parent, with the knowledge, tools, and support you need to achieve long-lasting change. Here’s how we do it:
Unlocking Mealtimes: Fearful to Foodie Transformation Program
Exclusive to current clients, our “Unlocking Mealtimes: Fearful to Foodie Transformation Program” is an innovative, therapist guided online course that’s unlike any other. This program is a game-changer, designed to take you through every aspect of your child’s feeding journey with expert guidance and clear, actionable steps. As you work through the course, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the whys and hows behind our therapy techniques, accelerating your child’s progress and making mealtimes more enjoyable and less stressful for everyone involved.
Parents who engage with this program often experience quicker results and stronger connections with their children around food—leading to a more peaceful and enjoyable feeding dynamic.
Safe and Sound Protocol
We use the Safe and Sound Protocol, which is a revolutionary, music-based therapy that sets us apart from any other feeding therapy practice. It’s not just about calming anxiety at the table—this protocol works wonders on the nervous system, reducing mealtime stress, promoting a sense of safety, and calming food-related fears. But it doesn’t stop there: This protocol also enhances your child’s emotional regulation, language skills, sleep patterns, and overall well-being, laying the foundation for transformative feeding therapy.
Gut Testing with Jennifer: A Functional Medicine Approach
We take a deep, functional medicine approach to gut health, going far beyond standard GI testing. In partnership with Jennifer, our NP, CHHC, and Detox Specialist, we offer an optional comprehensive gut testing service that’s as unique and thorough as your child’s needs. The test gives us an in-depth look at over 120,000 microbes in your child’s stool, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites—giving us an incredibly detailed view of your child’s gut health.
This isn’t the typical GI doctor test—this is a cutting-edge analysis that helps us identify gut imbalances that might be contributing to feeding challenges and food refusal, without relying on medication. It’s simple, mess-free, and takes just five minutes to complete, making it perfect for busy parents.
What you’ll learn:
Microbiome composition: The good and bad bacteria, viruses, fungi, and more.
Gut health insights: What’s normal, what isn’t, and what can be improved.
Gut digestion: How your child’s gut processes fibers and produces beneficial short-chain fatty acids.
Gut barrier health: How your child’s gut digests mucus—a key part of maintaining gut integrity.
This unique test isn’t covered by insurance, but it’s revolutionary in its ability to provide actionable insights into your child’s gut health and feeding challenges. With personalized support, you’ll gain the clarity and tools to heal your child’s gut and improve their relationship with food.
Virtual Coaching for Empowered Parents
Virtual coaching is often the most effective and transformative option for our families. While in-person therapy may seem like the obvious choice, parents who opt for virtual coaching often make faster progress. Why? Because they become the therapist.
Here’s the thing: In traditional therapy, parents are often adjusting to the therapist’s methods first, then trying to replicate them at home. In contrast, with our virtual coaching option, parents implement the techniques right from the start—with guidance and support from our experts—but without needing to adjust to someone else’s methods. This empowerment helps parents feel confident and in control, which accelerates change for their children.
The virtual coaching package includes:
Full access to our “Unlocking Mealtimes” course and Safe and Sound Protocol.
Two 1:1 parent coaching sessions each month to ensure you’re on track and making real progress.
Personalized strategies to keep you focused on your child’s unique needs and adjust as they grow.
Many parents mistakenly believe that in-person therapy is the best choice, but the virtual option is often the fastest, cost-effective, and most progressive route. It gives you the tools and knowledge to help your child thrive in real-time, all from the comfort of your own home.
What happy parents have to say
Before feeding therapy, my son was over one years old and still on purées. With Krystal’s help, my son is now THRIVING and eating anything and everything! It’s amazing. At his 2 year doctor appointment even the pediatrician was impressed with how far he has come with eating. Krystal is highly knowledgeable and explains everything she does. Without her help I don’t know where my son would be. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️
Nicole Razzano
My son has been working with the feeding therapists for over a year now. They are all so amazing!! He has had and still has some sensory issues, particularly with food. We really have seen a change in him and his ability to interact with and eat a variety of foods. He loves to be in the kitchen! I can’t even express how thankful we are to have found Foodology.
Monica Tanna
I am 32 years old and have been an extremely picky eater my whole life. My parents tried so many things to get me to eat better – a therapist, reward system and punishment. Nothing worked. I have tried on my own for years and was only able to add on a few foods. Then I looked online for help and found [Foodology Feeding]! Christine Miroddi was able to tell me why I am so picky (tongue tied) and help me try all different foods. She took the steps with me slowly so to not stress me and it worked!! I even tried salmon and liked it and I always said I’ll never try fish. She is a life saver!
Rachel Nunez
They helped my son go from not wanting to put any solid foods even close to his mouth, to trying all sorts of new foods in just a few months. The therapists worked with him on his sensory issues, on self-feeding, and on learning to chew. They were patient and friendly, and through play, made it a very enjoyable experience for my son. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who needs speech and/or feeding therapy. I will never forget how much they helped my son and I am forever grateful to them.

Olivia is very friendly and extremely engaging with my daughter. My daughter has a fear for doctors and nurses in general or even family members sometimes but the from the moment Olivia walk in I don’t think there’s any time where she cried or didn’t want to do her therapy. My daughter has progressed a lot in the little time span and that’s all thanks to the hard-work of Olivia.. She has a way to make feeding interesting and she takes her time with my daughter… I can’t recommend her enough…
