Holistic Feeding Therapy
HELPING CHILDREN MOVE FROM FEAR TO CONFIDENCE USING A WHOLE CHILD APPROACH
Your Investment in Your Child’s Food Future Starts Here
This isn’t just any feeding therapy clinic. At Foodology, we take a unique holistic feeding therapy approach that transforms mealtimes from stressful and limiting to exciting and full of possibility. We go far beyond simply trying to get your child to eat more—we work to uncover the why behind the struggle and empower your child to build a lifelong, positive relationship with food. No pressure. No tricks. Just deep, individualized care.
Unlike traditional, insurance-based practices that rely on surface-level behavior strategies, our therapy is built specifically for children with picky eating, ARFID, and sensory-based feeding challenges. We combine mindset work, sensory integration, oral motor development, and even gut health insights to support true, lasting change—not quick fixes.
Is a Holistic Approach to Feeding Therapy the Best?
Yes—here’s why we believe it’s not just better, but essential.
At Foodology, we believe the best feeding therapy doesn’t just check boxes — it transforms lives. Our holistic model is designed for children who haven’t made progress in traditional settings, and for families who are ready to stop just managing feeding and start truly understanding it.
This is why families across Long Island, New York, and beyond trust us when everything else hasn’t worked.
Why So Many Families Come to Us After Traditional Therapy Hasn’t Worked
Many of the families we serve come to us after months or even years of traditional feeding therapy—often discouraged, frustrated, and still stuck. When we take the time to truly listen and evaluate what was done in previous therapy, we often discover that their child was receiving support that falls squarely on the left side of the chart—behavior-based, reward-driven, or surface-level strategies that don’t match the depth of their child’s needs.
The reality? These children didn’t fail therapy.
They were never given the right kind of therapy.
Why This Happens More Than It Should
Unfortunately, many traditional or insurance-based therapy models are limited in what they can offer:
Sessions are short and limited in number, leaving little time to build trust or dig deep
Evaluations are rushed and rarely uncover the full picture (sensory issues, oral motor delays, mindset blocks, gut issues, etc.)
Therapists are often generalists, not specialists trained in complex or fearful feeding
Reimbursement rates are low, meaning therapists are overbooked and under-resourced
At Foodology, we take the opposite approach. We specialize only in feeding, and we work outside of restrictive systems so we can go deeper, think holistically, and create lasting change.
What Makes Our Approach Holistic?
We don't just look at what your child is or isn’t eating —we dig deeper. Our therapy integrates:

Oral Motor Development
Can your child physically manage the food that goes into their mouth?

Sensory Processing
Is food overwhelming, or are key senses under-responsive?

Gut Health & Nutrition
Are there underlying issues like reflux, allergies, or imbalances affecting appetite?

Mindset
How do anxiety, control, and past experiences shape your child’s relationship with food?
This comprehensive 4 Pillar lens allows us to create personalized strategies that honor your child’s nervous system, needs, and natural desire to grow.
Who We Help

Our holistic feeding therapy is ideal for children who:
- Eat fewer than 20 foods, or their food list continues to shrink over time
- Experience meltdowns, anxiety, or gagging when new foods are introduced
- Have been diagnosed with or show signs of PFD (Pediatric Feeding Disorder) or ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
- Cannot eat at restaurants, birthday parties, or school without parents bringing “safe foods”
- Will only eat specific brands, colors, textures, or foods prepared a certain way
- Struggle with textures, temperatures, or chewing/swallowing
- Have a history of reflux, allergies, tube feeding, or traumatic feeding experiences
- Don’t respond to typical feeding therapy or behavioral approaches
- Have sensory sensitivities or neurodivergence (including autism, ADHD, or SPD)
- Refuse entire food groups like vegetables, proteins, or mixed textures
- Rely heavily on milk, yogurt, or pouches as their primary nutrition
- Were once flexible eaters but became more limited due to illness, trauma, or regression
- Have plateaued in progress and you’re feeling stuck, worried, or exhausted
If any of this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone—and that there’s a different way forward. Our holistic feeding therapy is built to help children (and parents) move from fear and frustration to connection and confidence.

We can help you determine if this program is a good fit for your family’s needs
Here’s How It Works
Step 1: The Deep Dive Evaluation—A Roadmap to Real Change
We begin with an in-depth evaluation unlike anything covered by insurance. Instead of a quick screening, you’ll receive a 14–21 page report that gives a 360° picture of your child’s feeding challenges—sensory sensitivities, oral motor skills, gut health, and more.
Ahead of time, you’ll complete paperwork and send eating videos so we can fully prepare. Afterward, you’ll meet with us to review results and leave with a clear, customized roadmap to guide your child’s progress.
Step 2: Building Foundations
The first 4 weeks focus on safety and stability—similar to getting braces on before teeth shift. You’ll see calmer mealtimes, less stress, and a structured plan, but not instant eating breakthroughs. This foundation ensures lasting progress instead of quick fixes.
Every family participates in:
Parent Coaching — at least one monthly virtual session (in place of or in addition to in-person therapy).
Unlocking Mealtimes Program — our exclusive, therapist-guided online course that walks you step-by-step through the process so you can confidently support your child at home.
Step 2: Growth & Transformation
Once the foundation is in place, we expand food variety and reduce stress at the table. Depending on your child’s needs, therapy may include:
Safe and Sound Protocol: a music-based nervous system therapy that calms food fears and improves regulation, language, and sleep.
Gut Health Testing (optional): in partnership with Jennifer, NP & Detox Specialist, we can analyze over 120,000 microbes in your child’s gut in just 5 minutes. These insights help us address hidden issues that fuel picky eating and food refusal.
Ongoing Virtual Coaching or In-Person Sessions: tailored to your child’s level (Fearful, Stuck, or Curious) to keep progress moving at home and in therapy.
Why Families Choose Us
If you’re here, you’ve probably already tried waiting it out, bribing, or even traditional therapy—and it didn’t work. That’s because most approaches don’t address the whole child.
We work with moms who are ready to dig deeper. The ones who know in their gut something more is going on—and refuse to settle for another surface-level checklist.
This program is not for families looking for a quick fix.
It’s for parents who are ready to commit to a proven process, who want to understand the why behind their child’s struggles, and who will do what it takes to help them thrive.
Unlike insurance-based clinics, we specialize exclusively in feeding therapy—and we bring together gut health, sensory regulation, oral-motor skills, and mindset. That’s why families all over the world choose Foodology Feeding: because they’re done guessing, and ready to act.
👉 If that’s you, your next step is simple: schedule your evaluation and start your roadmap to mealtime success.
What Happy Parents Have To Say
Before feeding therapy, my son was over one years old and still on purées. With Krystal’s help, my son is now THRIVING and eating anything and everything! It’s amazing. At his 2 year doctor appointment even the pediatrician was impressed with how far he has come with eating. Krystal is highly knowledgeable and explains everything she does. Without her help I don’t know where my son would be. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤️

My son has been working with the feeding therapists for over a year now. They are all so amazing!! He has had and still has some sensory issues, particularly with food. We really have seen a change in him and his ability to interact with and eat a variety of foods. He loves to be in the kitchen! I can’t even express how thankful we are to have found Foodology.

I am 32 years old and have been an extremely picky eater my whole life. My parents tried so many things to get me to eat better – a therapist, reward system and punishment. Nothing worked. I have tried on my own for years and was only able to add on a few foods. Then I looked online for help and found [Foodology Feeding]! Christine Miroddi was able to tell me why I am so picky (tongue tied) and help me try all different foods. She took the steps with me slowly so to not stress me and it worked!! I even tried salmon and liked it and I always said I’ll never try fish. She is a life saver!

They helped my son go from not wanting to put any solid foods even close to his mouth, to trying all sorts of new foods in just a few months. The therapists worked with him on his sensory issues, on self-feeding, and on learning to chew. They were patient and friendly, and through play, made it a very enjoyable experience for my son. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who needs speech and/or feeding therapy. I will never forget how much they helped my son and I am forever grateful to them.

Olivia is very friendly and extremely engaging with my daughter. My daughter has a fear for doctors and nurses in general or even family members sometimes but the from the moment Olivia walk in I don’t think there’s any time where she cried or didn’t want to do her therapy. My daughter has progressed a lot in the little time span and that’s all thanks to the hard-work of Olivia.. She has a way to make feeding interesting and she takes her time with my daughter… I can’t recommend her enough…
